Responding to Urgent Community Needs
The Greatest Need Fund allow the Foundation to respond quickly to regional health care needs.
Whether the fund is providing financial assistance to patients, scholarships to future health care professionals or free health clinics to community members, gifts to this fund help strengthen our health care system.
The Greatest Need Fund has supported a variety of programs and initiatives including:

Food Farmacy: Provides three to five days worth of food upon discharge from the hospital to patients in critical need.
- Patient Assistance: Provides patients with up to $500 in financial aid for groceries, transportation, prescriptions, co-pays, medical equipment, and short-term lodging
- Clothing Closet: Sends in need patients home from their hospital stay with new clothing.
- ED Care for Caregivers: Provides emergency room staff onsite access to a counselor trained in crisis support and stress management resulting in a 30% decrease in staff turnover.
