Salem Health Foundations Award $119,275 in Scholarships to Enhance Regional Healthcare

The Salem Health Foundation and the Salem Health West Valley Foundation are proud to announce that they are awarding $119,275 in scholarships to 131 individuals pursuing a degree in the healthcare field. These scholarships help create a healthier community by enhancing care at Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics.   

The Foundations award scholarships annually to aspiring healthcare professionals and current Salem Health employees. Since 1968, the Salem Health Foundation and the Salem Health West Valley Foundations have awarded over $3.9 million in health care scholarships.   

The Foundations would like to specially recognize the high school students in Marion and Polk counties who received a scholarship this year. Congratulations to Amethyst Beitz, Hope Bridge, Elisabeth Fromwiller, Lindsey Gardner, Natalie Gieselman, Charlotte Haworth, Galilea Hernandez, Rachel LeMaster, Spencer Liudahl, Avery Lord, Olivia Moye, Noah Nishimura, Sofia Parra Soto, Maria Del Ruiz Velazquez, Collin Rutledge, Lindsey Schmidt, Makenzie Shambaugh, Sara Squires, Luke Stucker, Paris Tilgner, Katrina Timmons, Abigail Weber, and Mia Zelinka. We look forward to seeing the positive impact that these students will have on their communities.  

The Salem Health Foundation believes every patient in the region deserves high-quality care, and the Foundation’s scholarships are an investment in our community’s frontline healthcare professionals. The Foundations would like to thank all the generous donors who make the scholarship programs possible and wish this year’s scholarship recipients success in their academic pursuits.

The Salem Health Foundation was established in 1968 by a group of Salem residents interested in advancing health care through donations. It is a charitable, tax-exempt organization that supports medical and medically related projects of Salem Health. The 13 Salem Health Foundation and 9 West Valley Health Foundation volunteer directors help raise funds and manage the resources of the Foundation while distributing the funds according to the wishes of those who have given.
